Empowering women to lead the way

Our focus areas
"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write,
but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”

The Human Kind Project exists to end poverty and hunger in the world by 2030, aligned with the Global Goals. Our vision is a world where every human has equal access to education, health and opportunity and we do this by connecting brands and thought leaders to global projects that change the world.

Digital Night Schools
Digital technology powered by Barefoot
The Human Kind Project partners with Barefoot College, which provides hands on, practical education to children who are not able to attend school during the day due to family responsibilities such as farming, livestock breeding and household chores. The informal environment utilizes innovative learning tools to teach literacy, democratic values, environmental sustainability, and mathematic and scientific skills. Giving them access to knowledge financially impacts the girl’s family, which in turn increases the age of the marriage for the girl. This has reduced abuse and poverty for a girl and the next generations. $150 US sustains a child for a whole year of education.
Enriche
We believe in the central role of women as changemakers.
By funding the Enriche Curriculum, we help give women the tools and training they need to become agents of sustainable change. The Enriche Curriculum is a supplementary program that all Barefoot Solar Engineer trainees receive during their stay at the Barefoot College.
Regional Training Centres
Barefoot Regional Training Centers are launching across the global south
Training women in solar electrification and engineering addresses fourteen of the sustainable development goals. In October, Meagan Fallone, CEO, Barefoot College International signed an agreement with government officials from Fiji and India to build Fiji Barefoot College, a new regional center in Fiji in Vanua Levu. The center will train sixty women a year to be solar engineers and start enterprise activities through the Enriche training. Fallone says once these women return to their communities, they will be able to train other women to contribute towards green initiatives against climate change. “
